If you change the default port, then you must enable the 3 ports after
it (so if you choose 4000 then you must enable 4000 - 4003)

The UDP port enabled 5499 is required only if you want to list your
server on a tracker (the data stream is only outgoing so if you want to
disable in bound on a firewall it would work fine)

In ICQ under "Preferences & security", "Preferences" and Connections, click on "I am behind a firewall or proxy" then click on "Firewall Settings". Then select "I don't have a SOCKS Proxy server on my firewall" or "I am using another Proxy server". Click Next. Click "Use the following TCP listen ports for incoming event" and set the TCP ports for 20000 to 20019 for the first user, 20020 to 20039 for the second user, 20040 to 20059 for the third user, etc.

Outbound ports are usually not an issue but are listed here for network users who may need to manually configure for a proxy or NAT server or other hardware device.

Also shut off any other firewall programs you may have running.

Creo que la información que contiene esta lista ya no es completamente válida para MSN Messenger versión 4.5 o superior.

Según Microsoft, ahora para poder hacer chat de voz hay que abrir los siguientes puertos en el router:

Windows Messenger

Administrator/User Action Required
To enable voice and video communications with Windows Messenger through a non–UPnP firewall, configure the firewall to allow incoming traffic on UDP ports 5004 – 65535.

For other purposes, enable the following ports:
File Transfer: 6891 (to allow 10 simultaneous file transfers open ports 6891 through 6900)
Application and Whiteboard Sharing: 1503
Remote Assistance: 3389

O sea, que hay que abrir todo el rango de puertos UDP entre 5004 y 65535.

¿Alguien tiene valor y ganas para hacer esto en un router 3com configurado como multipuesto?

Me temo que sólo hay dos soluciones al problema del Messenger.

1ª) Que Microsoft cambie el sistema que usa Messenger para enviar audio (lo dudo mucho)

2ª) Que 3COM añada un ALG (Application Layer Gateway) para Messenger en una nueva versión del firmware (lo dudo más aún)

En resumen: Gracias a Microsoft y 3com, estamos bien jodidos.

PD: 3com se está empezando a parecer a Creative Labs en su comportamiento déspota y absoluto desprecio por sus clientes. Yo por mi parte no pienso volver a comprar nunca ningún producto más de estos sinverguenzas.

¿no seria mas logico culpar a microsoft por el uso de 60000 puertos? ¿sabes la de agujeros ke puedes crear haciendo eso?.

Ke un programa use 1 o 2 puertos tiene su logica Pero 60.000?, no los usara todos a la vez, pk sino vamos daos.
