Recently, Huawei became the only bidding winner of Spanish JAZZTEL's triple play bearer network construction project, including the construction of the backbone network and the DCN NM system. This is another large-scale application of Huawei high-end routers and Ethernet equipment in Europe, distributed in Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, and some other core cities. This network consists of ten core nodes, including 14 NE80E core routers and almost 100 S8508 and S8512 switches, some of which adopt 10G link interfaces, to replace the original ATM-based network. In addition to voice services, this network also carries triple play services. The entire network covers about 600,000 broadband subscribers. What's more, it provides many VIP customers with dedicated network services over MPLS VPN.
JAZZTEL is the second largest fixed network carrier in Spain. In this project, Huawei won the bidding of the entire network, covering Datacom Broadband, Intelligent, Optical network, and NGN services. Below is a diagram showing the layout of the proposed setup.
