BPL Tests Terminated Immediately
NEWINGTON, CO, Apr 1, 2004--In an amazing reversal of
policy, the FCC has informed utility companies to
terminate any further testing of Broadband over Power
Line (BPL) systems, effective immediately.
According to FAA spokesman, Dewey Lederfli, BPL
activity in the Washington, D.C./Baltimore area was
affecting communications with airline traffic.
Of further concern was a Department of Health memo
regarding potentially hazardous radiation overexposure
into each home and business serviced by a BPL
providing utility. The Deptartment of Health has
recommended BPL be suspended pending further study of
the effects on public health.
Further information will be provided as it becomes available.
