Brick en WAG320N

Muy buenas!

Bueno os cuento, el otro dia estuve trasteando con el router y le flasheé el firmware de modfs que teneis puesto en la wiki, pero supogo que no acabó del todo de flashear i se reinició. Después de todo ahora mismo tengo un router que solo se enciende el led de power y el numero de puerto al que esta conectado el ethernet.

El problema es que he probado de desbrickearlo por diversos metodos y tambien mediante diversos SO, con el resultado de que ni siquiera se conecta al router, ni siquiera me da IP! He probado tambien poner la ip yo segun me decian algunos tutoriales, sin resultado alguno.

Todo esto quiere decir que estoy delante de un hardbrick y que tengo que abrirlo y soldar en el SERIAL para desbrickearlo?

lo tuyo es un soft-brick ..

en la pagina sobre wag320n de la wiki, encontrarás toda la información (debrick, y serial (que no necesitas))

y por dios bendito, NO uses TFTP ..

de hecho si has usado TFTP, reza para que que no te haya quedado un hard brick

Entonces, como distingo el uno del otro? Me refiero las diferencias entre el hard-brick y soft-brick. Siento pedirte tanta informacion pero es que no he encontrado nada en google sobre este tema!

si no has usado tftp, entonces no es un hard-brick

en la wiki pone bien claro cómo desbrickear el wag320n , así que ponte a hacerlo

El soft brick ocurre cuando el CFE sigue intacto.. El método es este .Usando una tarjeta de red antigua (NDIS 1.0) y windows XP (hay gente que con Vista le ha funcionado...) , y el programa Sercomm ( 534270510c7be84e5784646e8e5385a0 *Sercomm_Upgrade_207_XP.exe). Para desbrickear, conectamos mediante cable ethernet normal, ponemos el router en modo Recovery (encendemos y mantememos el botón reset (con una aguja, p.e) hasta que el router se ponga a parpadear en rojo) , ejecutamos el programa UpgradeUtil (el sercomm mencionado) , seleccionamos la tarjeta de red (la misma puede aparecer repetida varias veces) , elegimos el fichero de firmware (que sea el original de Linksys) y le damos a OK .. Aparecerá una barra de progreso y tardará sobre media hora.

I suppose I hard bricked my WAG320N because I flashed the WAG320N-EU-ANNEXA-ETSI-1.00.13.bin firmware via TFTP in CFE. I read in the wiki page

the following sentence:

Tengo cuatro ficheros mtd0, mtd1 , mtd2, mtd3 .. si alguién los necesita que me los pida en el foro... ( de todas formas, parece ser que con una imagen del firmware de Linksys, se puede restaurar perfectamente).

So I suppose I can debrick my router. I build the DIYGADGET's Router JTAG Cable parallel cable as described

It seems there are errors (Halting processor and reading the Flash) that do not allow me to reflash the CFE.

¡OJO! Usar TFTP con el wag320n causa hard brick.

anyway..

¿Have you tried soft-debricking? (with Sercomm)

here are the mtd's

Let's got step by step .. (in fact, you just have to flash the cfe( which you can extract it from the firmware image or use mtd0) and debrick it as a soft brick

¿did you follow this? (in order serial port to work, you have to solder a couple of jumpers (just above the serial port)

. Aquí hay fotos de la interfaz JTAG y Serial del Router (fotos hechas por Mr. Eko) . Notense las soldaduras hechas donde el puerto serial, para que esté funcione ;) .. Y esquemáticos del serial y jtag (la foto la he hecho yo y con prisas...)

Thank you vukits!

My brick is absolutely an hard brick :(!!! The serial port give me no signals.

I cut the jtag cable to less than 15cm and now the flash chip is probed correctly :).

I think it is now time to flash back the firmware component you send me (THANK YOU MY FRIEND!!!) to my router.

Can you tell me how to use the four MTD you sent me?
